What are we looking for?
I think it is about time that we all get this fake perception of what life is suppose to really be out of our heads. Are we all trying to be perfect that we ignore the things that really need attention around us? They say never to judge a book by its cover so I decided to pick into that a little bit. Why do we judge? Is it jealousy or maybe a secret in debt way to make ourselves feel better. Can't we just be thankful for what we have. Take the women with the perfect home, body and designer jeans. We wish that was us and we look at our own surroundings and question why me until we realize her husband did not come home last night. We all have problems but just are taught not to make them known. We all secretly wish we had more then we do and I think it is just time that we sit back and take a deep breath and open our eyes. Think back to the lowest time in your life and how you would not want to go back there no matter what. Be thankful that you overcame that. I was a victim of "the why me syndrome" until I opened my eyes and ignored the Ikea end table and seen my two baby boys sitting in front of me. I am here now to make a life for them. I have a husband that will be there for me no matter what, who has coffee ready for me when I get home. Do I put effort into them or effort into how my front door looks for the neighbors? Yes, we need to make a nice home for our families but do it because you want to and not to impress. Our state is in ruins and we are in times that we are just thankful to have a job. It is time that everyone stops the bitching and pulls together. People are just so damm miserable. I hate to bring this up but I remember just after 9/11, there was this togetherness all around us. People were friendly and did not care about material things or the extra 1% in our pay raises. Why did we feel so close to each other back then, because we opened our eyes and realized what we had and what we had to live for. Time has past and we forgot that now. Tomorrow will come and when it does, open your eyes and look at what you have and forget what you don't have. Put the laundry to the side and just take a deep breath and smile.
